A work order is the client’s or main contractor’s written instruction to a contractor to carry out defined work at agreed rates. It is the basis for measuring the work, paying running bills and settling disputes.
List each BOQ item as a line with its unit and rate. The quantity can be the estimate; payment follows the measured quantity on each running account (RA) bill.
Payments to a resident contractor attract TDS under section 194C: 1% for an individual or HUF and 2% for others, once a single payment exceeds ₹30,000 or payments in the year exceed ₹1,00,000.
Retention, commonly 5% to 10% of each bill, is held back and released after the defect liability period. Put the percentage and the release condition in the work order so there is no argument later.
Rebota issues work orders against the project budget, records measured work and RA bills against each one, holds retention and deducts TDS on every bill, and shows what is billed, paid and still to come per contractor.
