A tax invoice is the document a GST-registered supplier issues for a taxable supply. It is the buyer’s proof for claiming input tax credit, so a missing field can cost your customer the credit and you the customer.
For goods, the invoice is issued before or at the time of removal or delivery. For services, it is issued within 30 days of supply (45 days for banks and financial institutions).
If the place of supply is in your own state, split the tax into CGST and SGST (for 18%: 9% + 9%). If it is in another state, charge IGST at the full rate. The maker starts with CGST 9% and SGST 9%; for an inter-state sale, remove them and add one IGST 18% line.
Copies: for goods, issue the invoice in triplicate (original for the buyer, duplicate for the transporter, triplicate for you); for services, in duplicate.
Above ₹5 crore of annual turnover, B2B invoices must also be reported as e-invoices to get an IRN and QR code. A PDF from this page is not an e-invoice.
In Rebota the invoice numbers itself in one series per GSTIN and financial year, works out CGST/SGST or IGST from the place of supply, prints HSN and your registration, connects to the e-invoice and e-way bill systems, and lands in receivables and your GST returns. No retyping into a second system.
