Bill the work done since the last bill against the BOQ: previous, this bill and up-to-date quantities, then GST, retention, TDS and recoveries down to the net payable. Free, no sign-up.
A running account (RA) bill is a contractor’s interim bill for the work done since the last bill, measured against the BOQ or work order. Each RA bill shows the quantity up to the previous bill, the quantity in this bill and the up-to-date total, so nothing is paid twice and the final bill is simply the last in the series.
The quantities come from the measurement book, checked by the engineer-in-charge. The client then certifies the bill, makes the agreed deductions (retention, TDS, advance recovery) and pays the net amount.
Retention, commonly 5% to 10% of the bill value, is held back until the defect liability period ends. TDS under section 194C is 1% for an individual or HUF contractor and 2% for others, worked out on the bill value without GST when GST is shown separately.
Government departments, local authorities and other notified bodies also deduct GST TDS of 2% (1% CGST + 1% SGST, or 2% IGST) under section 51 of the CGST Act when the contract value is above ₹2.5 lakh.
Mobilisation advance is recovered in instalments from the bills as the contract says; secured advance against material at site is recovered as that material is used.
Rebota keeps RA bills per project with the raised, certified and received amounts, retention, TDS and liquidated damages, the net due and what is still outstanding. Measurement book entries are certified and marked as included in a bill, and the tax invoice is raised from the RA bill with the retention split out in your accounts.
