How to use the Australia Pay Calculator 2026-27 — Take-home Pay

  1. Enter your annual salary.
  2. Say whether the figure includes super (a "package") or super is paid on top.
  3. Choose how often you are paid.

Formula used

2026-27 resident rates: 0% to $18,200, 15% to $45,000, 30% to $135,000, 37% to $190,000, 45% above.

Low income tax offset: $700, reduced by 5c per dollar above $37,500 and 1.5c per dollar above $45,000.

Medicare levy: 2% of taxable income, phased in between $28,011 and $35,013.

Super guarantee: 12% of ordinary earnings, paid by the employer.

What changed in the 2026-27 tax rates?▾
The rate on income between $18,201 and $45,000 fell from 16% to 15% on 1 July 2026. The other brackets are unchanged.
How much is $90,000 after tax in Australia?▾
About $70,680 a year in 2026-27 — roughly $2,718 a fortnight — after $17,520 income tax and $1,800 Medicare levy, with super paid on top.
Is super included in my salary?▾
It depends on the offer. A "package" includes the 12% super; a "base plus super" salary has super paid on top. Choose the right option above.
Who pays the Medicare levy?▾
Most residents pay 2% of taxable income. Low-income earners pay less or nothing, and some exemptions apply.
