Both are open-source ERPs with accounting, inventory, manufacturing and projects. Odoo charges per user for its Enterprise apps; ERPNext charges nothing for the software and leaves you to pay for hosting and people. That one difference shapes everything else.
Choose Odoo if you want the widest set of apps (from accounting to eCommerce and helpdesk), a large partner network, and are comfortable paying per user for Enterprise.
Choose ERPNext if you have technical help, want to own the system outright, and expect headcount to grow faster than budget.
Choose neither if nobody will configure and maintain it. An ERP that ships with your industry's screens may cost less in practice.
Add implementation to both: configuring the chart of accounts, GST, e-invoicing and payroll, migrating data and training. For ERPNext you also own updates and fixes, either in-house or through a partner.
Prices checked on 20 October 2026 on Odoo's pricing page and Frappe Cloud pricing, before GST.
Odoo is open core: Community is the open-source base that Enterprise is built on, and Enterprise adds features such as Studio, hosting, upgrades and support under a paid licence.
ERPNext is released under GPL-3.0 in full, on the Frappe framework. You can host it anywhere and change any part of it, and so can anyone you hire.
Both cover accounting, inventory, purchasing, sales, manufacturing and projects. Odoo has the larger catalogue of apps and third-party modules; ERPNext's core is compact, with HR and payroll in a separate Frappe app and Indian GST e-invoicing and e-way bills from add-on apps. In both cases, check Indian payroll (PF, ESI, professional tax) and GST returns with your own data before you commit.
Rebota is a different trade-off: not open source, but built for Indian SMEs with the screens already there, from BOQ, RA bills and site logs to production orders, scheduling and quality checks, with GST books, e-invoicing and payroll underneath, priced per company with users included. After the 15-day trial, keep using Rebota free: 1 user, 30 GST invoices a month, stock, suppliers and cash. Upgrade only when you need more.

Rebota fits Indian SMEs in construction, manufacturing and trading that want an ERP without hiring a developer or a partner to build industry screens.
A business that wants to own and modify its ERP code, or that needs Odoo's wider app catalogue. Choose ERPNext or Odoo.
Odoo for breadth of apps and partners. ERPNext for full ownership and no per-user fees with technical help in place.
If a single person runs operations and books, an ERP of any kind may be premature; start with accounting software.
Odoo: the regular price after the first year, Custom for Studio, and partner fees. ERPNext: hosting, implementation, updates and the person who keeps it running. Both: data migration and training.
Many apps, partner-led: Odoo. Own the code, no per-user fees, technical team: ERPNext. Neither the team nor the budget for either: an ERP with your industry built in.
Price both over three years, at regular prices, with the implementation quote and the cost of the person who will maintain the system. For ERPNext, write down who applies updates and who fixes a broken report at month-end. If the answer is "nobody yet", that is the real cost to plan for.
