Vyapar is a good way to start: GST bills from a phone, a free Android app and low yearly plans. The reasons to move are growth reasons, and each points to a different product.
At the prices on its site, Vyapar Silver is ₹4,399 a year for desktop and mobile with sync across devices, three companies, ten e-way bills a month, invoices without the Vyapar advertisement, an accounting module and export to Tally. Gold, ₹4,799, raises it to five companies and unlimited e-way bills. If your problem is one of those limits, upgrading is cheaper than moving.

myBillBook covers the same ground: GST and non-GST invoices, e-invoicing and e-way bills, GSTR reports to share with your CA, batch and expiry tracking, on PC, web, Android and iOS, with a free sign-up. Compare the two on your own invoices and items before you choose.
Zoho Books gives your accountant their own login on every plan, and is free for one user and an accountant while revenue stays under ₹25 lakh a year. Tally is what most CAs work in: Silver ₹22,500 once, or rented at ₹8,100 a year, plus GST.
Several billing counters, many items with batches or sizes, more than one godown: BUSY Standard covers unlimited users in one office for ₹16,500 once, with batch-wise stock; its SMART subscription adds serial numbers and size/colour items. See Tally vs BUSY.
Staff on payroll, products you make, or jobs and projects you bill: that is ERP territory. Rebota keeps GST billing, e-invoicing and e-way bills, batch and serial stock and books, and adds payroll with PF, ESI and PT, production orders, and projects with BOQs, priced per company with users included. After the 15-day trial, keep using Rebota free: 1 user, 30 GST invoices a month, stock, suppliers and cash. Upgrade only when you need more.
Stay if you run one or two shops, bill from a phone or a single PC, keep simple stock and your CA is happy with the reports or a Tally export. Vyapar is built for exactly that, at a low yearly price.
| Option | Choose it when | Price (before GST) | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vyapar Silver / Gold (stay) | A plan limit is the only problem | ₹4,399 / ₹4,799 a year | Company and e-way bill limits on Silver |
| myBillBook | Another phone-first app | Free sign-up; check its site | Compare on your own items |
| Zoho Books | Proper books, accountant login | Free under ₹25 lakh; from ₹749 a month | Batch and serial on Elite |
| TallyPrime | Your CA works in Tally | Silver ₹22,500; rental ₹8,100 a year | Desktop; TSS yearly |
| BUSY | Heavy stock, several counters | Standard ₹16,500 one-time | Desktop; more to learn |
| Rebota | Payroll, production or projects | Free plan; paid plans per company | More system than a single shop needs |
Rebota fits a Vyapar user whose business has grown into more than billing: staff on payroll, goods it manufactures, or projects it bills against, with stock across godowns.
A single shop billing from a phone. Vyapar or myBillBook is the right size; Rebota would be more than you need.
Vyapar itself for phone-first shops. myBillBook as a like-for-like. Zoho Books for proper books with an accountant login. Tally when the CA needs it. BUSY for heavy stock and several counters.
Not once you issue GST bills daily; a billing app is cheaper than the errors.
Re-entering items and parties, retraining counter staff, and a slower first month. Desktop software adds a PC and backups.
Limit hit: upgrade Vyapar. Accountant wants books: Zoho Books or Tally. Heavy stock: BUSY. Payroll, production or projects: Rebota.
Count three things before you switch: invoices a day, people who bill, and items with batches or sizes. If all three are small, stay on a phone app. If any one has grown tenfold since you started on Vyapar, that number tells you which alternative to look at.
